Round-up: Today’s top stories in the morning papers in Korea (March 7, 2017)
1. The fate of South Korean President Park Geun-hye on whether to expel or return to her post will be decided this week. The Constitutional Court that held impeachment trial for 12 weeks without a break after the National Assembly’s impeachment motion passed is expected to reach its verdict later this week.
Koreans have participated in the candlelight vigil without a break. We hope to have spring without Park Geun-hye.
2. South Korea’s special prosecutors concluded that Choi Soon-sil and President Park Geun-hye jointly run Mir and K Sports Foundations which 53 Korean conglomerates donated a total of 77.4 billion won. They also found that it was Choi’s idea to establish these two foundations.
Park has been a Choi’s puppet. Why don’t we send her to Choi’s side?
