Round-up: Today’s top stories in the morning papers in Korea (February 7, 2017)
1. The letter of opinion which President Park Geun-hye submitted reportedly says the president denied all allegations against her in the impeachment trial. The letter says that Choi Soon-sil was an ordinary housewife and that Park was unaware of Choi’s influence peddling and that she has not leaked any confidential state documents.
What? An ordinary housewife? Park has such a sense of humor that make the entire nation laugh.
2. The conflict between Korea-Japan relations surrounding the comfort woman statue in Busan has been one month as of today. The Abe administration maintained their current position, saying, “It does not matter how long it takes” after Japanese ambassador to Korea Yasumasa and consul general Yasuhiro returned to Japan last month.
We do not care what they think either. Do whatever you want.
