Round-up: Today’s top stories in the morning papers in Korea (December 16, 2016)
1. The special investigation team led by Park Young-soo said that it had barred those linked to the scandal including the former chief of the Secretary of Cheong Wa Dae Kim Ki-choon from leaving the country. The team also barred Kim Sang-man and Kim Young-jae who treated the president who is related to the missing seven hours on the day Sewol Ferry sank from leaving the country.
The team needs to include one more person. I mean the one who loves to travel overseas. She can bounce any time she wants to.
2. During parliamentary hearing, lawmakers were dumbfounded by Choi Kyung-hee, the former president of Ewha Women’s University, who gave a wrong answer about Jeong Yoon-hoe, father of Jeong Yoo-ra who received preferential treatment in her college admission. Choi said she did not know because she had an engineering background. She denied the speculation that she gave preferential treatment to Choi Soon sil’s daughter in her admission in 2015.
Whatever her major was, I feel sorry for Choi Kyung-hee who was highly educated stammered during the hearing. Tut, tut.
