1. Choi Soon-sil who is under arrest expressed concern for President Park Geun-hye in a recent investigation. Choi felt for sorry for Ms. Park, saying “she does not step down because of me.”

Is this order from Choi Soon-sil? If Choi tells Park to resign, she may step down from her position.

 

2. There are numerous reports on the change in ‘police attitude’ toward citizens who participated in a candlelight vigil on the 12th. South Korean police who never hesitated to fire capsaicin and water cannon during a mass protest only a year ago prioritize people’s safety and helped the peace rally.

Police did not yet offer an apology to Baek Nam-ki, the Korean farmer. The nature of police does not change easily.
