Round-up: Today’s top stories in the morning papers in Korea (November 7, 2016)
1. Choi Soon-sil allegedly sobbed during the prosecution’s probe after South Korean President Park Geun-hye issued a second statement to the nation. The prosecution said Choi was overwhelmed with her sorrow as she ended up in a detention center and Park bowed her head.
One of Choi’s hobbies is revising presidential speeches. I think she wailed because she was unable to correct them any more.
2. The public funeral for Baek Nam-ki, who was killed by water cannon of police during a public demonstration last November, was held on the 5th. Baek was buried on the following day in Mangwol-dong Cemetery in Gwangju after 41 days since he passed away on the 25th of September.
Park Geun-hye administration did not issue an official apology until now. I don’t expect Park to apologize. Just step down.
