Round-up: Today’s top stories in the morning papers in Korea (October 21, 2016)
1. Ehwa Women’s University lied about Choi Soon-sil’s daughter Jeong Yoo-ra’s absence from classes. Professor Lee In-seong, a friend of the resigned university president Choi Kyung-hee, was no longer contacted and another professor who said he did not make a trip to China admitted that he travelled to the country.
They hide their head in the sand. This is something that other people should know.
2. Allegations surrounding Choi Soon-sil have been raised as she attempts to privatize Mir and K Sports Foundation in which South Korea’s large corporations contributed 80 billion won. South Korean President Park Geun-hye said that anyone who committed illegal acts regarding the foundations must be severely punished.
Is Park drawing the line with Choi Soon-sil? The allegations became increasingly serious.
