Today’s top stories in the morning papers in Korea (October 17, 2016)


1. Regarding privileges in college admission of Choi Soon-sil’s daughter, professors at Ehwa Women’s University will demand the dismissal of Choi Kyoung-hee, the president of the university, through collective action. The assembly will be marked as the first since the university was fist founded if the rally takes place as planned on the 19th.

Ehwa Women’s University’s image, where no one holds responsibility, is falling. The university may be the tabloid edition of the Republic of Korea.


2. The bereaved family members of Baek Nam-ki and civic groups went into a sit-in demonstration in the funeral at Seoul National University Hospital. As the date for executing an autopsy on the Korea farmer approaches, they intend to use physical force to block the police from conducting an autopsy.
