Round-up: Today’s top stories in the morning papers in Korea (September 30, 2016)
1. Choi Soon-sil’s daughter was under allegations of receiving college admission from Ehwa Women’s University as a student with an equine speciality as college admission process for her was not clear. In addition, the university allegedly revised its regulations to accept Choi’s daughter. The Minjoo Party of Korea conducted field investigation by visiting Ehwa University.
Yonsei University also accepted Chun Doo-hwan’s second son as a student with an equine speciality. Choi’s status must be as high as Chun.
2. Yuhan-Kimberly will release low-priced sanitary pads in the coming November. While “Good Feel Soonsoo” is expected to launch in November, which is 30 to 40 percent cheaper than the new hygiene product called “Good Feel Magic Cushion”, the company will contribute 1.5 million sanitary pads for low-income families through the Korean Women Foundation.
It would have been better if the company had done it earlier. The company fears the power of public sentiment.
