Today’s top stories in the morning papers in Korea (February 5, 2016)

Round-up: Today’s top stories in the morning papers in Korea (February 5, 2016)

The man in his 30s who was arrested for planting a fake bomb with a threatening letter written in Arabic at Incheon International Airport was known that he completed graduate school. The man committed the crime because he was discontent with society and had problems getting a job.

Well, police can arrest a suspect without anti-terrorism act. But they are not probably happy because the suspect is Korean.

McDonalds announced that they will raise the price of some of their menus by an average of 1.33% starting this coming month. They will increase the price from 100 to 200 won including nine burgers, four breakfasts, and four desserts.

I’ll probably stop eating McDonalds.

It has become a controversial issue as some of universities require students who defer their graduation to pay part of their tuition. These students apply for leave of absence due to problems such as getting a job. The students have to pay expensive tuition in order to defer their graduation for preparing for a job interview.

These universities are doing business with students. Educational institutions these days are so evil.

The Fair Trade Commission said that forcing moviegoers to watch ads which delayed the start of their films is a different matter of their rights and interests. Civic groups who were against the decision will petition for legislation.

Actual movies start after 10 minutes of ads. Please do not enter the theater before that.

“The Korean public finds it rather uncomfortable when women look very smart. They should pretend to be less intelligent.” This is not what an old-fashioned man said who treats women with disrespect. This is what Kim Eul-dong said, a female second-term lawmaker of the ruling Saenuri Party.

However, I must say that you are not smart and I find you rather uncomfortable. Think of your triplet grandsons. Shame on you!

Many people complain of aches and pain in multiple areas of the body including shoulder, back, and knee during the lunar New Year’s Day. Long hours of drive and making offering foods for ancestors are the main reason for the pain. Taking a bath by using ginger and mug wort relieves pain and raises body temperature.

Please buy enough amounts of ginger and mug wort and fill the tub with warm water for your loves one, okay?

During the Cabinet meeting held in Chung Wa Dae on the 2nd of February, President Park Geun-hye and Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon argued over who should be responsible for the Nuri Curriculum, a free preschool program for children aged between three and five, which was a key campaign for President Park. A report indicated that Hyun Ki-wan, Senior Secretary to the President for Political Affairs, vehemently criticized the mayor for his attitude toward the president after the meeting.

The secretary probably said something like “how dare you to argue with someone who is higher than the Korean Constitution? Didn’t he use his fist?
